A 3 months creative workshop in Fasangården Kindergarten (Cph)

This grand scale creative space project is the ”child and legacy” of the Kindergarten Leader Joan Kvist Olsen, who, through a lifetime of leadership invited art a the ” life tread” into this  Reggio Emilia institution. Our cooperation lasted the last 16 years of her leadership of Fasangårdens Kindergarten, in which I – every March, April, May worked with small groups of all the kids of the institution, creating this massive piece of art every year.

Color, Form, Smell and Taste

A week of explorative workshop for kids 2-4 year old (Attending: 150 kids,- mostly in Copenhagen area)

A sensory workshop for the 2-4 year old. We talk about colors, name them and learn how to paint with brushes on big papers. We experiment mixing colors and see the magic of that.  We paint berries with berries, and we eat them, and talk about them. We look at flowers, mix the color of them, paint them.   

Fantasirum (Fantasy Room/ Room in your Fantasy)

Creating a fantasy town with a whole kindergarden.
(attending: 500 kids in Copenhagen)
With Sissel Romme, Steen Haugesen, Pernille Nedergaard and me.
 


The 2 performance artists (Steen and Pernille) start out talking with the kids about their homes, families and friendships. Each child creates their very own treasure box and sensory box. With the supervision of  Sissel and me the kids collaborates two and two together on building their house using huge cardboard boxes. After drawing windows and doors and cutting them out, they add on spires, balconies, gardens and finally paint their house.  When the paint is dry, we form a small village of houses, and Steen and Pernille creates a performance with the kids. On ‘Opening night’ we invite all the guests inside the houses, to play with the treasure boxes and feel the sensory boxes, and have a good time, making new friends.

Vildnis (Wilderness)

Creating a poetry/dance/music performance with a school class of 12-13-year olds (A weeks workshop for 140 kids)
With Sissel Romme, Steen Haugesen, Mads and Pernille Nedergaard

First day the pupils are presented with 4 workshops and choose what they want to work with:
1. Composition/ Songs/ Rap
2. Masques/ Set design/ Poetry
3. Stop-motion
4. Dance/ Text
Second and third day they immerse themselves into their chosen subject. On the fourth day we assemble the bits and pieces into a performance format and rehearse it. Final day we perform for an audience of parents, teachers and friends.
