The Einstein of Sex

Avantgarde musical theatre
Husets Teater (CPH) and Berlin Cabaret (Bln)
By Livingstones Cabinet, Adelaide Betzon and me

The worlds first sexologist Magnus Hirschfeldt lived in Berlin in the 1910/20ies. He had his ”Institute für Sexualwissenschaft” studying queer sexuality, inventing the word ”Transvestite”, traveling the world talking about queer, gay rights, the nature of human sexuality. In 1935 his institute and his massive book collection is burned down by the Hitler jugend, while they film the event. The performance mixes statements about gay harassment, hate crimes and scientific articles about the nature of sex and gender, and is full of music, dance and amazing razor sharp choir ( Schwanzen Singer Knaben) .

Kærlighed uden strømper (Love without stockings)

Parody of a Tragedy by Johan Herman Wessel from 1772
Reumert Nominated for its stage design
Director: Camilla Bach Mortensen

Costume and stage design: me/ Pille Behrendt/ Laurids Bøcher, jewellery: Malene Kastalje
This rococo comedy about love is opulent and absurd. The costumes are created of stout, and spray painted in pastel colors, Wigs are hand cut out of foam, jewellery and hairpins all made from kitchen tools/ rubber/ coins

Peer Gynt by Ibsen from 1867, A Tragedy

Costumes and Stage design: me/ Pille Behendt/Laurids Bøcher

This absurd folklore drama is about a boy traveling the world in search of pleasure, ending in an egocentric de-route…
The Norwegian hut is created like a optical illusion of a folklore prison- with absolutely no space for living! Costumes are a mixture of everything folklore from the north, the Balkans with huge amounts of embroidery, aprons full of Greek metal motifs offerings and coins, a real stuffed smelly Nordic goat and hats like an Nordic dream of a kathakali-dancer, with a stuffed duck, a stuffed squirrel and a stuffed fox.
